Resveratrol (Polygonum Cuspidatum)

Resveratrol is found in some red wines and is believed to be a key reason the French can eat high amounts of fat and still maintain a healthy heart. Research shows that resveratrol can act as a protector against some metabolic stressors associated with a high fat diet. Resveratrol is a potent cardiovascular antioxidant, working synergistically as part of the antioxidant network. It has been shown to enhance the function of an important cellular antioxidant enzyme called MnSOD, which helps support mitochondria to function as it is designed to do.
